Notification of Road Closure on Sunday, August 1, 2010 Crystal Springs Rd between Stonehenge Road / 3rd Street and Polhemus Road will be closed to auto traffic on Sunday August 1, 2010, from 7 AM to 10 AM due to the Tour de Peninsula, a recreational bike ride with approximately 1,500 riders. An auto detour will be in place during this time. The detour will direct autos north to Santa Inez Avenue / Black Mountain Road / Hayne Road. A map of the detour is on the back of this letter.Local residents that live on Merner Rd, Crystal Springs Terrace or Crystal Springs Road that need an escort in order to access or leave their home should call the Town of Hillsborough Police Department at (650) 375-7470 for an escort. The Tour de Peninsula, which starts and finishes at Coyote Point Park raises money for the San Mateo County Parks Foundation and the Bicycle Sunday. 2009 Water Quality Report The Town of Hillsborough Department of Public Works presents the following report to provide consumers with important water quality information. It describes where your water comes from, what is in it and how well it measures up to the water quality standards set by the California Department of Public Health and the US Environmental Protection Agency. This report is compiled from water quality data collected in the calendar year 2009 jointly by the Department of Public Works and our water supplier, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.

Recology, San Mateo County Hillsborough residents will be receiving a mailer from our new garbage company, Recology, San Mateo County in June / July. The mailer will ask residents to select a garbage cart size for their residence: 20, 32, 64 or 96 gallons. A brochure will also be included to provide additional information. Responses need to be returned to Recology by JULY 9, 2010. If Recology does not receive a response, they will assign the same or similar sized container to the residence. Recycle bins and the yard waste containers will remain the same.The new refuse company will take over on January 1, 2011. Please contact the Public Works Department for additional information.

Household Hazardous Waste Door-to-Door Collection Program The South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA) is starting a new Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Door-to-Door Collection program, beginning on May 3, 2010. This program is for residents of Belmont, Hillsborough, San Carlos and San Mateo.
